Welcome

The idea behind the Community Service Expo came from Sherri Goggin, a local wife, mother and philanthropist. After talking to many of her friends, she realized how difficult it is for people to find their "service niche" in the community. Countless opportunities are available for those who want to serve, but everyone cannot be passionate about the same organization. People have different interests and priorities in their lives that make one non-profit more appealing than another.

The goal of the Expo is to increase the amount of volunteers and service in the Athens area by inviting local non-profits to set up a booth in the Classic Center that tells about their organizations.

We hope the Expo will become a fall tradition in the Athens area and will be anxiously awaited by locals, students and new-comers each year.
